DOWNTOWN PARKING PASSES

News & Updates:

All parking passes for businesses or downtown residents may be purchased at City Hall at a cost of $20 per person per month through December 31, 2013.

On March 11, 2013 Ferndale City Council approved a motion that holds parking rates for on street and off street paring to $.50 per hour, and limits the cost of employee parking passes to $20 per month through December 31, 2013.  Employees and business can buy as many months as they wish through December, 2013. Hangtags may still be purchased at City Hall.  (No yearly passes will be provided past December 31 until the 2014 Parking Pass Program has been established). 

March Pass Holders

The total duration of the parking holiday is expected to last until March 25th, approximately 4 weeks.  The city recognizes that this action has devalued the monthly parking passes that were purchased for March.  To rectify this, the City will offer a free monthly pass to any current pass-holder who is on record of purchasing a monthly pass for March, 2013. 

Allowable parking locations

Included below is a new map that reflects the different parking areas available for parking pass holders. The three different types of lots: discount, standard and premium noted on the map illustrate a separation of past long term parking practices.  However; since Council approved maintaining the $20 monthly parking rates through December 31, anyone with a parking pass may park in any of the designated areas. In the future, parking pass costs may be more reflective of the concentric parking principles referenced in the Parking Rates Fact Sheet that will be available online at www.FerndaleParkPlus.com

Enforcement

Parking pass holders receive an extreme discount for parking in the three identified locations.  Parking enforcement will actively enforce between the hours of 10am-8pm, March 25-April 30.  Enforcement hours will be between 10:00am-11:00pm from May 1 moving forward.
